These courses are designed to provide participants with the fundamental skills necessary for them to become highly effective trainers for internal company employees. A key outcome of these courses is the development of the trainee’s presentation skills, enabling instructors/supervisors to communicate more effectively in their jobs.

These courses are primarily targeted at anyone who is in the position of training employees for business process improvement. Others who may consider attending include anyone who wishes to significantly improve presentation skills.

Ethics for Health Care Professionals

Health care practitioners work in a particularly ethically sensitive environment where critical decisions need to be made with the highest integrity and quality of thinking. What health care practitioners need is a method for quickly sorting through ethical requirement as well as potential constraints to ensure an ethically viable approach to health services.
 


Ethics for Professional Engineers

Increasing concern for the value dimension of engineering is, at least in part, a result of the attention that the media has given to cases such as the Challenger disaster, the Kansas City Hyatt-Regency Hotel walkways collapse, and the Exxon oil spill Engineering ethics is the field of applied ethics that examines and sets standards for engineers’ obligations to the public, their clients, employers and the profession.

Professional Ethics is designed for leaders and decision makers in business and government who need to create and manage a culture of ethics and responsibility for their organization.
 


Introduction to Accountability

The overall purpose is to change how participants think about management problems by a) showing them that their current thinking (which is not grounded in accountability) is the cause of their current problems and b) accountability will solve those problems in a socially acceptable manner.
 


Leadership for Business Improvement

This six day, live-in course is designed to provide participants with the fundamental skills necessary for them to be an internal company trainer, and specifically, to train internal company employees on the Principles of Continuous Improvement course. An extremely difficult and intensive course, participants should be selected carefully.
 
This course is primarily targeted at anyone who is in a leadership position for business process improvement. Other people who may consider attending include anyone who is leading or participating on a business process re-engineering team.
 


Managerial Leadership Practices

This workshop focuses on skill building and training in eleven managerial leadership practices. This training enables managers to get the best work out of subordinates as individuals and as a team and to manage subordinates’ contracts from when they join the team to when they leave it.
 


Presentation Skills

A study conducted in the 1980’s by Psychology Today showed that people throughout North America fear public speaking more than death! This four day, live in course, is designed to provide participants with the fundamental skills necessary for them to deliver highly effective presentations to groups of various sizes. Group management skills are a key focus within this workshop as well as giving participants the confidence that they can handle even the toughest audience.
 
This course is primarily targeted at anyone who is in the position of needing to deliver presentations. Others who may consider attending include anyone in a leadership position, who wishes to significantly improve communications skills.
 


Situational Leadership

Leadership is all about achieving results through the work of others. This 3 day live-in course has a strong focus on developing an in-depth understanding of how teams work in a variety of typical business situations. It is designed to provide participants with the fundamental skills necessary for effective leadership in today’s business environment. Participants will explore how to lead and facilitate teams of employees to rapidly and effectively achieve desired business results.
 
This course is primarily targeted at anyone who is in a leadership position in their organization. Other people who may consider attending include anyone who is leading or participating on any improvement project team.
 


Supervisory Skills Training

This 2 day workshop provides participants with an introduction to the fundamentals of effective supervision. Participants gain an understanding of the vital contribution effective supervisors make to their organization. The workshop provides clarity on supervisory roles and responsibilities, and provides a solid introduction to the behaviour and skills needed to successfully fulfill that role.
 
Those who should attend include new supervisors who need a clear job definition and an introduction to core supervisory skills, behaviour and practical know-how. Experienced supervisors who would like to improve their on-the-job effectiveness. Teams of supervisors who would like to achieve a common understanding and alignment on their roles and responsibilities, and how best to improve their effectiveness.
 


Team Facilitation

A major problem with any team of employees within organizations is their inability to rapidly achieve desired results. This course is designed to provide participants with the fundamental skills necessary for effective facilitation of teams. Participants will explore how to lead and facilitate teams of employees to achieve rapid improvements in business processes using a structured approach. Participates will learn by doing. Participants will learn about themselves, their own learning, facilitation and leadership styles and how to recognize and work with the styles of team members.
 
This course is primarily targeted at anyone who is designated as a facilitator for achieving improvement through teams. Other people who may consider attending include anyone who is leading or participating on a business process re-engineering team.
 


Total Quality Instructor

This six day, live-in course is designed to provide participants with the fundamental skills necessary for them to be an internal company trainer, and specifically, to train employees on the Principles of the Continuous Improvement course.
 
An extremely difficult and intensive course, participants should be selected carefully.
 


Train the Trainer

This 4-6 day live-in, course is designed to provide participants with the fundamental skills necessary for them to become highly effective trainers for internal company employees. A key outcome of this course is the development of the trainee’s presentation skills, enabling instructors to communicate more effectively in their jobs.
 
This course is primarily targeted at anyone who is in the position of training employees for business process improvement. Others who may consider attending include anyone who wishes to significantly improve presentation skills.
 


Turning Process into Accountability

Good process reengineering yields a process that is effective and efficient but it may leave unspecified two aspects of accountability necessary for ensuring best implementation of the process.

  1. First, while specifying the department in which a step of the process should be done, process reengineering often does not state the role within that department that should be accountable for the step.
  2. Second, process reengineering typically does not specify the relationships among the various roles involved in the process. Unless role relationships are specified, tension can easily occur and the resulting actions will be determined not by strategy but by which of the two has the stronger personality.
