Statistical Process Control (SPC)


This course is designed to provide participants with the statistical tools needed to drive improvement of business processes throughout the entire organization. Participants will learn how to select the most appropriate statistical tool, and then will have an opportunity to implement SPC within their own jobs.


Our SPC training seminars use your processes and data to enable your employees to achieve significant improvements in the output of your business processes.

Prior to holding the training course, we spend time with your management team investigating and identifying opportunities for improvement to your processes. We then collect actual process data, which is used during the training.

Employees are then given the mandate to identify and achieve statistically significant reductions in process variation or step changes in process average performance. A critical requirement is that they must deliver this by the end of the course.

What You Will Learn

Participants learn first about the concept of variation, and then learn how Dr. Deming’s teachings enable the techniques of SPC to work in real life.

We teach how to identify and eliminate the causes of uncontrolled variation, then how to cause reductions in variation and how to cause desired shifts in process output. The use of your real-life process data during the course also provides a rapid start to your SPC effort. This training has a tremendous focus on the identification of process improvement possibilities based on the control charts.

The statistical tools covered will vary based on the specific requirements of the participants and the degree of customization.
